Job Description
Your Career
In this x-portfolio role within the Unit 42 marketing team, you will be responsible for surfacing and articulating the most compelling stories that help Unit 42 explain the work its threat researchers and incident responders are doing to help Palo Alto Networks customers prepare for and respond to their biggest security challenges. From ransomware to cloud breaches and nation-state threats, you’ll stay up to date on the changing threat landscape and partner with our threat intel team to write, design, and produce stories for marketing, executive, and sales teams across the company to use in customer conversations and awareness campaigns. In addition, you’ll dive in during rapid responses to ensure the above teams are up to date on critical information and how to best communicate it.
We are looking for a storyteller with security experience working with incident response and/or threat intel teams to translate technical security topics into stories that engage key security personas (CISOs, SecOps leaders, DevSecOps, Board Members, etc) through a variety of mediums (interactive web experiences, conference keynotes, podcasts, videos, executive talking points, etc). We’re also looking for a candidate who has marketing experience responding to major threat-led responses across broad x-functional teams.
Your Impact
Partner with Unit 42 threat researchers and our communications team to keep your finger on the pulse of the threat landscape to regularly update key stakeholders on new threats, threat actors, and threat-led rapid response initiatives
Partner with Unit 42 threat researchers to co-lead the storytelling narrative as the threat landscape changes and impacts industries, markets, and our customers for ongoing and rapid response marketing campaigns
Work with the creative services team and outside agencies to develop awareness content and interactive digital experiences to bring key stories to life in an engaging way for customers
You might simultaneously be developing a keynote speech for a major conference, a podcast on a new adversary group, or an interactive web experience for security audiences to explore our threat research, ensuring that all content is on-brand, consistent in style, quality and voice
Craft Unit 42 stories and outcomes to be used in the Executive Briefing Center and other venues as well as create a feedback loop with x-functional teams to ensure unrealized customer benefits and competitive advantages go back into product messaging and positioning, sales enablement, and overall marketing content
Partner with the corporate communications and social marketing teams to create compelling social and blog content on the changing threat landscape and incident response stories from the field

A record of success in developing compelling thought leadership content, executive speeches, presentations - You should be comfortable creating presentation decks with a complete talk track for the presenter
You understand what an audience wants to hear and cut through the noise to create compelling awareness content for short, medium, and long form communications
