Overview:
Under the direction of the Member Engagement Director or Coordinator, and in the accordance with the policies of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, the Member Engagement Representative - Bilingual Spanish/English will be responsible for engaging in activities to increase membership in our centers

Under the direction of the Member Engagement Director or Coordinator, and in the accordance with the policies of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, the Member Engagement Representative - Bilingual Spanish/English will be responsible for engaging in activities to increase membership in our centers
Responsibilities:

Contribute to the overall YMCA mission of healthy living, youth development and social responsibility
- Conduct prospective member tours as per training; demonstrate consistent excellence in sales and closing techniques, telephone and in-person service, and prospective member engagement; follow up for prospective members on a daily basis.
- Assist in meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual membership sales goals.Achieve daily and weekly prospecting goals.
- Handle all member and non-member telephone calls per YMCA policies.
- Perform responsibilities such as: cashing out, balancing daily transactions and dropping envelopes in safe.
- Maintain an orderly and neat workspace during your shift and clean up when leaving.
- Be open and willing to be a substitute to work a shift where there is no coverage, including opening, closing and weekend shifts.
- Ensure community is consistently informed of Y’s mission, programs and events through positive public relations, newspaper articles and relationships with area schools, civic organizations and churches
- Attend community functions and events to promote the Y, its mission and programs as needed
- Attend associate meetings
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
- One year experience in customer service, sales and marketing preferably in a membership setting.
- Proven experience in sales campaigns and/or strategies
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
- Experience and ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Highly organized, detail, and goal oriented.
- Must have good communication skills including phone skills
- Articulate; and have high skills in written communications
- Spanish dominant or highly conversational in Spanish
