Provides application and technical support to end users on a variety of issues within the organization. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Participates in the implementation of various IT projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
Analyzes trends of help desk issues, identifying areas for improvement. Records, tracks, documents, and analyzes the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
Manages and coordinates use of printers, fax machines and MFDs, including management of printer vendors and hardware needs identified in IT projects. Maintains relationships with Print vendors an ensure TFHD print infrastructure is right sized and maintenance is kept up to date.
Identifies and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization as well as the processes and work flows in departments and participates in department-specific process improvement.
Deploys printers, PC's, monitors, scanners and all other physical hardware as needed and trains staff as necessary.
Acts as resource to Help Desk Representatives.
Accesses software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution and develops knowledge-based articles for end users.
Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, and configuring systems and applications.
Assists in the design and execution of new clinical and operational area builds or moves
Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
Complies with System policies and procedures.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Ability to manage print and scanner vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical degree in a related area and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in an IT related area preferred. Hospital experience preferred
Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2007, 2012. Microsoft Windows 7,8,10 Professional and Windows Office Applications experience necessary. PC Imaging, Thin Client Set-up, CITRIX, Extensive knowledge of printers, hardware functionality preferred. Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
Ability to enter and retrieve data from hospital computer system. Extensive knowledge of word processing, data base and department specific computer programs.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS:
Purpose is to obtain, clarify, or give facts or information regardless of the nature of those facts, i.e., the facts or information may range from easily understood to highly technical.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Lift and maneuver 15 pounds. Ability to navigate small spaces when deploying specific hardware in clinical and operational areas.
