  • This job is a member of the Credit Union Team within the American Airlines Credit Union.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining desktop hardware and software for American Airlines Credit Union (headquarters, disaster recovery center, and 45 branch locations).

What you'll do

  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user personal computer (PC) hardware, software, printers, scanners, peripheral devices, and networking hardware products
  • Travels to branch locations to perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems and implement corrective solutions
  • Receives and responds to incoming calls, emails, and service desk requests
  • Develops and maintains an inventory of PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment
  • Monitors and tests PC performance and provides performance statistics and reports
  • Constructs, installs, and tests customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems
  • Conducts research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts
  • Evaluates and recommends hardware products for purchase
  • Writes technical specifications for purchase of PCs and related products
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs hardware and peripheral equipment improvements and upgrades
  • Assists in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts
  • Coordinates with third-party support and PC equipment vendors
  • Aids in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintains current knowledge of plan executables, and responds to crisis in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ensures the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or 2 years of equivalent progressive experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in Desktop Support

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems (XP and Win7), Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
  • Skilled in understanding Microsoft Applications administration including the installation and support of Internet Explorer (version 7, 8, 9) and Microsoft Office (version 2007 and 2010)
  • Ability to support Telecom/Telephone application/infrastructure
  • Skilled in excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as printers, computers and peripherals
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
