Position Summary
Mentoring Responsibilities:
1. Commit for the Fall semester, with an option to continue for the Spring semester, to the TRIO SSS Peer Mentoring Program
2. Participate in monthly meetings with mentoring team and the mentor coordinator for activity planning and develop skills
3. Submit completed Mentoring Logs to mentor coordinator within a week of meeting with mentee(s)
4. Support mentees and underclassmen to acclimate to University life (i.e., where resources are located such as the Food Pantry an Financial Aid, important dates, etc.)
Leadership Responsibilities
1. Working with SSS to plan and assist with one event per semester
2. Attend planned events such as Munch n Meets, cultural events, or workshops as schedule permit
3. Outreach to potential SSS Participants via phone calls, mailings, and attendance at University events (orientation, activities fair, wellness, fair, etc
4. At the beginning of the year, facilitate or chair the Welcome to SSS Forum to engage and inform underclassmen of how to be successful in college
5. Become familiar with the SSS on-line Financial Literacy platform (VicTreeFi) by completing 30 minute courses. Encourage mentees to utilize VicTreeFi to improve financial well-being
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled as an undergraduate student at Gannon University and has successfully completed at least 30 credits
- Maintains a minimum GPA of 2.7
- Maintains active status as an SSS participant
- Flexible hours according to mentor and mentee availability

- Engaged in campus activities
- Expresses a genuine regard for others
Physical Demands
- Be able to stand for 60 minute intervals
- Be able to transport flyers and other moderately sized materials to various campus locations
