Gordon-Conwell is a multidenominational, protestant graduate school, unique with its broad array of over 1,300 students and 25 faculty and staff from 78 denominations and over 50 countries. We offer a residential model of education at South Hamilton, MA (our main campus); an urban context in Boston, MA; adult educational models in both our Charlotte, NC campus and our offerings in Jacksonville, FL; in addition to online and cohort models involving students from around the world.

Rooted in the gospel and God’s Word, the seminary seeks to develop Christian leaders who are thoughtful, globally aware, spiritually mature, and ready for a broad array of ministries. Position Summary

The Chapel Coordinator assists the Chapel Director and collaborates with other seminary departments in weekly chapel programming. This position is between 5-10 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee music and arts at Wednesday all-school chapel services.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with students to support Tuesday student chapel services.
  • Collaborate with Chapel Director and Academic Dean to plan the yearly chapel schedule.
  • Plan special seasonal services such as Lessons and Carols, Ash Wednesday, etc.
  • Integrate church calendar into chapel life.
  • Encourage and promote chapel as an essential part of community life.

  • Passion for integrating arts and worship.
  • Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while coordinating community worship experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and serve in a team environment that requires flexibility, collegiality, and collaboration with other seminary offices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Pro Presenter, Planning Center, and other related technologies used in chapel.
  • Commitment to collegiality, diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communication with others.
  • Understanding of the academic, personal, and spiritual capabilities required for theological training.

Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a field related to theological education, worship arts, or commensurate experience or training.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing worship services with experience leading worship.
  • Knowledge of Gordon-Conwell and its various academic programs is helpful.
