Responsibilities:

Provides support to health care team members to enhance the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse, the Gastroenterology Tech I is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the cleaning and disinfection of all scopes. Currently assists independently with non-conscious sedation procedures, and as requested with conscious sedation procedures. Works closely with other Gastroenterology staff in regards to supplies and equipment, and scheduling. Cross trained to other outpatient clinics
Qualifications:

Education


  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.


Experience


  • Previous experience in a health-related position, preferred.


Licensure/Certificates


  • Current BLS required within thirty days of hire.
  • SGNA certification, preferred.


Skills


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent CRH positively in internal and external meetings is required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word.


Physical Requirements


  • Position requires extensive standing, walking, and bending.
  • Ability to perform the following: kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • When performing clinical functions, may require the physical ability to lift and assist with transfer of patients, push a patient in a wheelchair or on a gurney and respond quickly to traumatic injuries.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to use Safe Patient Handling devices and maintain education and training of devices.
