Arconic is currently in search of Associate HR Business Partner to join our Tennessee Operations HR Team in Alcoa, TN .

JOB DESCRIPTION


Primary Responsibilities


This position is responsible for providing advice and counsel to internal partners on labor relations, HR policies, and programs related to employee engagement, job assignment and progression, talent planning, and other general human resource topics. The incumbent communicates continually with all levels of personnel and management in Operations, Maintenance, and Staff departments, as well as with Union representatives, the Union Bargaining Committee, the Plant Manager, HR staff, and the internal Legal team.



  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required
  • Advise, counsel, and support Operations, Maintenance, and Staff personnel departments by providing expertise in areas such as: labor relations, workforce planning, recruitment, inclusion and diversity, performance management, compensation, and talent development
  • Assist management with CBA and/or policy interpretation, as well as provide guidance on HR related procedures and programs
  • Respond to grievances, review disciplinary programs, conduct investigations, resolve employee relations issues, prepare for arbitrations, and participate in union contract negotiations.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Assist in the implementation of Company-wide HR strategies that support successful business outcomes
  • Partner with location HR team to ensure consistent administration of HR processes and compliance with legal and audit requirements




Qualifications


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Labor Relations or other related role.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Master’s degree in human resources, Labor Relations, Organization Development, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or Labor relations role.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills including excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence in a demanding and high-performing work environment and develop strong trusting relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience with HR systems (preferably Oracle, Workbrain, Taleo) or an ability to learn systems quickly.
