Hi. We’re One Stone - a student led and directed nonprofit organization based in Boise, Idaho.

Our mission is to make students better leaders and the world a better place. Our program

empowers high school students to learn and practice 21st century skills through experiential

service, innovative initiatives, social entrepreneurship, and revolutionary learning.

Our work is rooted in design thinking, a creative problem solving discovery process developed

at Stanford University’s Using design thinking, we can uncover new ideas that allow us

to disrupt for good – improving the status quo for lasting change. Through this, students learn

and practice critical 21st Century skills: empathy, collaboration, communication, leadership,

innovation, critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity One Stone is looking for a Director of Finance and Human Resources. The Director of Finance

and HR is responsible for directing the organization’s accounting functions. These functions

include establishing and maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices,

procedures, and initiatives. The Director of Finance and HR prepares financial reports and

presents findings and recommendations to One Stone’s leadership team. The Director of

Finance and HR also supports and participates in the development of the organization’s

strategic plan.

Direct and oversee all aspects of accounting functions (financial reporting, A/P, A/R,

payroll, investments) and maintain financial policies and procedures for a strong system

of internal controls, compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local laws

and grant compliance

Oversee all aspects of preparation and presentation of financial statements, annual

budgets, monthly program budget to actual financials and projections and budget related

information in grant application

Coordinate and oversee successful completion of the annual financial statement audit

and completion of annual Form 990 tax returns

Provide timely financial analysis for management and operational decision making

Direct coordination of HR benefit program and HR needs

Analyze and maintain external leases and contracts

Support facilities management

Qualifications we are looking for:

Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in public accounting

Extensive experience with setting oversight of and application of financial related policies

and procedures and strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting


Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and strong working knowledge

of Quickbooks

Ability to work in both a leadership and support role simultaneously

Strong problem solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make

decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

Proven experience with a fast-paced environment and rapid prototyping

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and


Able to pass criminal background check and credit check

Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills

Must be self-motivated and self-directed

A desire to advance the mission of One Stone

The ability to work a flexible schedule

The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

Interest and ability to work with high school students
