The City of Vacaville Utilities Department is accepting applications for the position of UTILITIES MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR.*
Currently, one (1) vacancy exists within the department. This recruitment will also serve to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies that may occur over the next twelve (12) month period.

A Utilities Maintenance Supervisor coordinates and supervises the development and construction of new equipment and systems, repair or replacement of mechanical equipment and facilities used within the City's water and wastewater systems and supervises both City utilities maintenance personnel and outside maintenance contractors. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Organizes, schedules, assigns and supervises City personnel in the performance of field design, construction, installation and testing of new equipment, as well as corrective maintenance and repair of equipment used in water and wastewater systems
- Implements, maintains and operates a preventative maintenance program
- Reviews project plans and drawings and makes change recommendations based upon field observation and maintenance needs

The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Possess knowledge in methods and equipment used in the development, construction, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater treatment plants;
- Have experience with principles and practices of leadership, supervision, training, performance evaluation, and budgeting; and
- Have the ability to diagnose operational problems and take effective courses of action.
Any combination of experience and education that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: College-level coursework in electrical and mechanical maintenance, water and wastewater operations, management and supervision, or related fields.
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience involving the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and control systems in a water and/or wastewater treatment plant or six (6) years of experience in an industrial environment performing related work. Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Select positions may require the possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
