Position: Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Teacher Location: Woodland Elementary SchoolSchedule: 2022-2023 School Year Salary: Per Teachers ContractTo Start: August 29, 2022 plus 2 days prior for mentoringQualifications: ?MA DESE Teacher License: General Science (1-6) or Elementary (1-6), required;?SEI Endorsement, required;?Bi-lingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese, preferred;?Expertise with the Massachusetts Mathematics and Science/Technology Frameworks; ?Expertise connecting subject matter across content to make real world connections for students; ?Expertise in teaching elementary school students;?Expertise in Project-based learning for the elementary learner; ?Expertise with differentiating instruction; ?Highly skilled with all current technology platforms as it relates to the educational setting. Responsibilities: ?Develop enriching curriculum that explores Structural Engineering, Biotechnology, Product Development, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics and Coding;?Among other fields, uses creative challenges and technological tasks to solve real world problems; ?Implement Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Curriculum Units and attend all PLTW events and trainings;?Develop rigorous performance tasks aligned to curriculum frameworks, ?Use assessment consistently to assess student progress and adapt instruction appropriately based on individual need; ?Assess strengths and needs of students and communicate assessment results with Curriculum Team Leader, teachers, guidance counselors, parents and administration; ?Work collaboratively with vertical peers to develop and refine Curriculum and Pacing Guides for STEM to ensure the continuation of the STEM model throughout the secondary level; ?Work collaboratively with teachers in all content and special subject classes in a team setting in the best interest of student success; ?Consistently embed self in school culture to support the academic and social potential of student and staff; ?Perform duties and other responsibilities as directed by the building administration.
