MERS Goodwill will be opening a new retail location in Jennings, MO in May. We are looking for Lead Retail Associates to join our team!

MERS Goodwill is a mainstream retailer with plans for actively growing. Resale is “in” and our convenient locations are fun and friendly places to work and shop. Each store represents our amazing culture and how diverse our teams are. At our core, we promote “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.” With MERS Goodwill, you will end your day knowing that you changed lives for the better. Join a great retail team that makes a real difference.

Job overview

Lead Associates are responsible for different departments in the store, Production, Donation Dock, and Sales Floor. In each of these areas of responsibility, you will be giving employees direction while working side-by-side, exceeding customer and donor expectations, building strong working relationships, and providing a role model of teamwork and Goodwill Values, all while helping the store achieve its productivity and sales goals. This is not like other retail jobs. Sure, we work 40 hours per week like other managers and we are open 7 days a week. But, our products are gently used, donated items. Items come in bags, boxes, totes, and in pieces. Items that need to be unpacked, sorted, priced, and displayed. It’s messy. It’s dusty. It can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The Store Manager needs you to display ownership over your department as well as the store in the absence of the Store and Assistant Store Managers. Willingness to display initiative and resourcefulness are crucial skills here. Supporting the mission is a complex job, but you will get a sense of fulfillment like no other. More importantly, you will get to be a part of a company that is committed to improving our local communities.
