JOB TITLE: Packaging and Assembly Technician





STATUS: Non-Exempt (Full-time)





COMPENSATION: Hourly, and medical, dental, vision, long-term disability and life benefits, and paid sick time and vacation accrual.





GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assembly Technician is responsible for weighing and packaging various forms of cannabis including flowers, edibles, pre-rolls, cartridges and concentrates. Additional duties may include operation of machinery, with appropriate training, and hand manicuring of machine trimmed product. Also responsible for accurate tracking of projects assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Assistant Manager and Manager of Processing Department.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)



  • Read, verify and understand work orders for flower, pre-roll, cartridge and other assembly projects as necessary



  • Physically gather and count packaging supplies, which vary by product type



  • Correctly label product containers of various shapes and sizes with multiple product stickers



  • Assemble and weigh multiple types of products and record results; some products require hand trimming, grinding, pouring, etc.



  • Capping, sealing, closing and/or heat-sealing product containers



  • Perform addition and subtraction to account for product remainders; verify weights of all assemblies are accurate within predefined variance.



  • Participate in inventory counts and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all areas.



  • Maintain a positive work environment conducive to trust and respect.



  • Perform other related work as required.




PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently, within an assembly line and individually, with minimal oversight.



  • Ability to consistently communicate with peers and supervisors in a supportive and positive manner conducive to the culture and core values of the company.



  • Must be punctual and prepared to work a set schedule with the potential for overtime based on workflow and department needs.



  • Ability to maintain high standards in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment.



  • Ability to collect and record accurate production data and use basic arithmetic to make calculations.



  • Knowledge of cannabis strains, and ability to identify contaminants.



  • Must have a high level of organization, patience, and flexibility.




EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent in experience and education; One year or more experience in similar role preferred. Experience in medical cannabis industry is highly desirable, but not required. Must be 21 years old and submit to a background check.





TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work may require prolonged sitting/standing, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to quickly perform repetitive packaging duties. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and using assistance (multiple people, dolly) when lifting/moving over 100 pounds.





TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a busy cannabis facility and/or operations/finishing area. Facilities can be loud due to fans and filtration systems. Temperatures can fluctuate between cold and hot depending upon the season and the work location.
