Responsible for the management and administration of an effective and efficient volleyball program. The position reports to the Director of Athletics
Summary of Job Duties:
- Assist with all practices and game preparation as directed by the head coach, individual player development
- Assist in recruiting players by identifying and assessing talent, and by communicating with prospective student-athletes
- Attendance at all home and away matches is required, additional travel may be required for recruiting purposes
- Coordinate academic success resources to student-athletes. Oversee all travel management
- Serve as a liaison between players and the head coach
- Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and to provide leadership for subordinates
- Maintain a positive relationship with players, staff, and volleyball boosters
- Abide by university policies regarding athletics, Division II volleyball programs, Lonestar Conference rules, and NCAA rules and regulations
- Requires consistent on-time attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, experience in coaching volleyball
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of all aspects of the game of volleyball
- Successful completion of the NCAA Coaches Certification exam before the first practice.
