Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI), part of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, is seeking qualified candidates for its Quality Assurance Coordinator position.



NVMHI is a progressive inpatient facility working with community partners to promote mental health recovery in the northern Virginia region, located in Falls Church, Virginia. Northern Virginia is an internationally diverse, family-friendly region that is situated only minutes away from Washington DC and all its cultural/historical attractions. It also boasts one of the finest public school systems in the country.



This position will be a part of the Compliance & Quality Management department. The incumbent is responsible for implementing and conducting activities that support the Hospital’s Compliance and Quality Management Program. This position is responsible for coordinating ongoing data management and monitoring facility activities to assure compliance with Agency, Departmental, Accreditation and Regulatory policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Also responsible for facilitating performance improvement activities while providing a level of support to internal customers


Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles, methodologies, and evaluation
  • Knowledge and ability to collect, organize, analyze and present data to support decisions
  • Experience in regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, accreditation, and regulatory agency standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including intermediate and advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a healthcare related field
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing and presentations
  • Ability to work independently, organize, plan, and prioritize work assignments
