Description
The Division of State Risk and Insurance Services provides and procures cost effective insurance for state owned property, vehicles, mobile equipment, and liability risk exposures. Additionally, this division provides state-wide risk management services and procures Public Official Bonds, Commercial Liability, Sickness/Accident insurance policies, Aviation policies and various liability policies to state agencies, universities, and Kentucky Community and Technical College Systems. The division also provides underwriting, appraisal, and fire suppression annual inspection services for state owned structures and utilizes a third party claims adjuster to assist in processing claims faster

We currently are searching for an energetic, team-oriented individual to join our agency in the role as the Procedures Development Specialist I. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides support to the Appraisal, Property and Auto insurance programs
  • Review and process Fire and Tornado Fund requests
  • Assist with Vehicle listing reports, audits and claims for the Kentucky Self Insured Auto Program
  • Assist in conducting field appraisals, which may require overnight travel
  • Assist in presenting at trainings for state agencies.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Microsoft Office experience (Specifically excel)
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines
  • Exceptional oral and written communication expertise
  • Building appraisal and/or property insurance underwriting experience.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.



EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field.



Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE



Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
