Location: KDP Headquarters, Plano TX Reporting To: VP of Innovation Job Overview KDP is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven, Innovation Sr. Manager with a track record of success managing Innovation. This position will lead opportunity identification, pipeline management, and launch planning as a cross functional leader across a broad set of brand and category growth priorities as well as whitespace exploration and new opportunity development. We are seeking 7+ years of experience in marketing and Innovation in a consumer and brand-centric business, with a meaningful amount of that time spent on developing and executing innovation growth strategies for your business. You should have a strong analytic skillset, syndicated data experience, solid financial grounding, and a working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative consumer research design as well as category insights and analysis. A Bachelor’s Degree is required; MBA preferred. Position Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Monitor trends, new products, competitor, and category innovation activity to inform Innovation Strategy and ideation. Collaborate with Brand leaders to build Innovation strategies into short and long term brand and commercial growth plans. Identify consumer-centric growth opportunities for KDP brands and category whitespace Lead ideation and creation workshops that collide bold, creative, and lateral thinking with consumer insight, category data, trends and internal KDP experts, designers, engineers and food scientists. Collaborate deeply with KDP strategy, consumer insights, brand marketing, and commercial teams to scope and create the business case for innovation investments. Optimize Innovation for Commercial P&L impact without compromising your vision for the consumer proposition and insights underlying each opportunity. This includes convincing / aligning business stakeholders to make necessary tradeoffs between topline and bottom-line P&L drivers and investment decisions. Be a champion for a culture of Innovation and Capability development at a project level through coaching, behavior modeling, and culture building. Must be comfortable influencing change without direct authority. Requirements Required Skills Classically trained innovation marketer with experience (ideally) at a larger CPG company, who is passionate and comfortable operating within a smaller, entrepreneurial environment. Knowledge and relevant experience in the areas of agile project management, creativity and lateral thinking, and design-thinking or emergent strategy principles and ways of working. Confident in leading complex cross-functional projects with limited oversight Strong leadership, organization, planning, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to influence others both up and across the organization Strong analytical and technical skills; comfortable with IRI or Nielsen data. Strong knowledge of product development life cycle, including empathy and experience working closely with R&D, Regulatory & Legal, Supply Chain and Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Brand Marketing. Working knowledge of financial planning, forecasting assortment planning and inventory management Strong knowledge of CPG marketing vehicles and marketing fundamentals. Ability to challenge the status quo and be persistent and persuasive in the face of opposition. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Low ego; this role requires a team and enterprise orientation, an ability to influence without authority, and a strong bias for action including a willingness to own the work and get scrappy when needed. Comfortable with ambiguity, and able to work well in an entrepreneurial environment. Yet thoughtful about risk taking and when to challenge the organization.
