Job Duties

Responsibility / Duty
Responsible for auditing student degree plans for pending graduates in the College of Sciences and Technology and ensuring that candidates meet all requirements for graduation. Print degree audits for advisors each semester. Assist numerous advisors from all departments with processing coursework substitutions and waivers necessary to meet graduation requirements. Process approximately 125-150 graduates per semester and keeping detailed records on each of them. Process minors for graduation candidates

Responsibility / Duty


Serve as primary receptionist for visitors to the office. Retrieve and distribute on and off campus mail. Assist Dean and faculty with academic dishonesty reports and appeals. Responsible for all secretarial duties when Dean’s administrative assistant is out of the office or is unavailable. Responsible for handling incoming telephone calls and delivering messages to dean, students and/or faculty/staff as needed. Coordinate electronic calendar for conference room scheduling. Assist Dean’s administrative assistant with the planning and arrangements for annual Award’s Banquet. Assist with initiatives of college and dean

Assist with and process paperwork for student requests to drop or add classes.Assist students with applications for taking extramural courses, making sure their grades are received by the required due date. Process student requests to resign from university. All other tasks assigned by dean

Minimum Experience Required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of experience in which clerical work was a major duty.



SUBSTITUTIONS:

Training in a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required experience on the basis of six months of training for six months of experience for a maximum of one year of the required experience.



Completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.



College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of 15 semester hours for six months of experience.



NOTE:

Business or technical school training with less than completion will only be credited in six month increments. Similarly, college training will only be credited in 15 semester hour increments.



NOTE:

Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Commission of Higher Education; the Higher Learning Commission; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
