Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

  • Assist Manager of Real and Personal Property Tax with Real and Personal Property tax matters. Must be a self-starter and work both independently and as a team. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Review all Real and Personal Property Tax obligations and payments for all properties on which Taxes are paid directly to the Taxing Authority (i.e. not paid to Landlords).
  • Audit Tax invoices against internal budget and the Annual Report supplied by outside Tax Consultants to verify the amount billed is correct and/or reasonable. If there is a discrepancy, coordinate information with Regal management first and if directed then to outside Tax Consultants to establish the correct amount and assist with the Tax Appeal Process.
  • Make sure all Real and Personal Property Taxes are paid on a timely basis to take advantage of the discounts for early payment.
  • Maintain tax calendar and digital/online payment tracker, using Excel, OneDrive, and/or any other tracking methods as directed by management to ensure no payments are missed due to not having received statements in a timely manner.
  • Assist in organizing and processing various department and software system reports as directed.
  • Work with Manager of Tax and Regal outside tax consultants as directed to prepare the annual Real Estate and Personal Property Tax Budgets and/or template reports.
  • Prepare direct-pay Tax invoices to facilitate early-pay discounts.
  • Audit Monthly Lease Variance between Tax Budget vs. projected actual expense each month and submit Accrual recommendations as directed.
  • Prepare and deliver Tax information packages to Regal Tax Consultants, assist outside Consultants as needed with various information needed to put together appeal packages.
  • Scan and review copies of all tax-related correspondence (tax invoices, assessment notices, etc.) to REG Tax Consultants
  • Send Weekly Reminders (Payment Cutoff Dates, etc.) to management.
  • Assist with Tax Tracker Report(s) for direct pay locations and distribute to management.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned, including set-up of new spreadsheets, data analysis, and summaries using Excel and other programs.

Can learn new software functions quickly while maintaining a high level of proficiency


High school diploma or general education degree (GED), intermediate computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel

Must be able to utilize standard office equipment and software

Language Ability:

Above average reading and comprehension skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

Ability to recognize when more information is required and seek advice

Computer Skills

Microsoft Excel and Word, email systems and data base programs
