Job Description


Ensure the overall procurement effort for the Kirksville location is achieved while meeting quality and technical standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·         Participate in the WireCo Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, providing guidance on supply and demand, order management, on-time delivery performance, and forecast execution

·         Maintain and effectively utilize the ERP system to determine inventory levels for efficient operations to ensure continuity of supply

·         Partner with General Manager for pre-qualification, negotiation of supplier agreeements, preparation of contracts and tender management to ensure optimum quality, value, and reliability

·         Oversee inventory control through periodic cycle counts, eliminating excess/obsolete components, and maintaining raw material inventories at the proper level

·         Support lean strategies for Kanban, VMI, and consignment inventory

·         Collaborate with production floor, customer care, and quality management team to exceed established location goals

·         Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, for cost reduction potential

·         Complie data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation for contract compliance

·         Approving purchase orders and confirmting delivery of goods

·         Supervise annual physical inventory count process

·         Other work related duties as assigned by management


Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


·         Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or equivalent work experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge and proficiency level (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced):

·         Extensive knowledge and demonstrated history of ability to negotiate best vendor performance, quality standards, terms, pricing, and delivery - Advanced

·         Working knowledge and familiarity with integrated Enterprise resource Planning (ERP) system – Intermediate

·         Inventory control policies and procedure knowledge – Intermediate

Skills and Abilities

·         Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities

·         Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts production and customer order fulfilment

·         Able to work well under pressure to handle emergency or stressful situations

·         Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills to provide productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers

  • Maintain a high level organization and record-keeping skills to maintain a consistent flow of materials
