The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include bulldozers, wheel loaders, excavators, skid steers, water trucks; and other heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment. This position may also require assisting our lead mechanics with miscellaneous projects, as well as some labor-intensive tasks. (i.e. building manholes, laying down environmental matting, seeding for soil stabilization)
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
- Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.
- Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
This position requires the ability to work overtime and include weekends.
Basic Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in soil moving, and soil processing operations
- Experience in using a wheel loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer loaders, and/or other heavy equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- Mechanical ability
- Good work ethic, self-motivated
