      Works under the supervision of the Production Manager and in coordination with the Nutrition Aide/Production Team Leaders. The Nutrition Aide's primary job function is to perform a variety of tasks including assembly of meals, delivery of meals, cashiering, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, washing pots and pans, and pre-prepping food items for cooks. Performs other duties as assigned

      • Basic literacy skills plus the ability to perform basic math calculations to accurately measure and dilute chemicals required

      • Ordinary interpersonal skills and ordinary courtesy are required
    • Essential Technical/Motor Skills:

      • Required the ability to read menus and follow written and verbal instructions. Requires Knowledge of work routines and procedures and materials used in Dietary normally acquired during less than one full month of work experience. The incumbent uses the dishwasher, garbage disposal, carts, refrigerator/freezer, steam table, and mechanical tray line frequently. Employee uses knives, serving utensils, garbage carts, patient carts, blender, mixer, and chopper occasionally
    • Essential Physical Requirements:

      • The physical demand level for this position is light to medium. Occasionally lifts 35 pounds and frequently lifts 20 pounds or less. Walks at a slower speed while carrying 20 pounds or less. Stands and/or walks with normal breaks seven to eight hours per day when assembling patient trays, washing dishes, etc. Sits approximately one hour per day (including breaks). Continuously concentrates on detail

      • Must be able to cope with frequent deadlines. Must contend with occasional irregular activity schedules and working without the assistance of other personnel, and will occasionally work under close supervision. Problem solving ability is required in order to follow instruction

      • Assigned to work any station in the assembly process.
      • Preps food items to be utilized by cooks involves slicing, chopping, dicing, and shredding.
      • Cleans equipment, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, trays and carts. Stores and delivers clean items to appropriate areas.
      • Washes pots and pans and other food production/service utensils by hand following approved sanitary techniques.
      • Bundles and disposes of trash; sanitizes and relines trash receptacles for reuse.
      • Sweeps and mops floor in dish room and other assigned areas.
      • Measures ingredients using instruments such as scale, measuring cups, etc.
      • Cleans and prepares fresh fruits and vegetables by washing, slicing, etc. using equipment such as slicer, mixer, knives, chopper, etc.
      • Interacts with visitors and coworkers with a cheerful helpful behavior.
      • Prepares daily work station according to proper procedure in a timely fashion.
      • Portions food in a safe and sanitary manner according to proper guidelines.
      • Answers phone using proper etiquette
