Position Summary

The Program Manager is a hands-on role responsible for planning, requirements gathering, timelines, design, implementation, and finalizing programs according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Program Manager will also help to define the project’s objectives and then ensure KPI’s are met through overseeing quality control throughout the program’s lifecycle or contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure contracts are implemented properly and timely, programs are launched on time, and the client’s objectives are achieved
  • Maintain client relationships and ensure effective, timely and accurate client communications
  • Manage program budgets to ensure full utilization of funds while meeting the program’s savings goals
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to program staff including managing invoice processing, reviewing program marketing materials, leading client communication calls, inventory management and assisting a team to creatively meet the goals of the program
  • Collaborate with other energy efficiency programs, corporate office staff, design, information technology, and marketing departments as appropriate in achieving customer KPI’s
  • Draft and submit monthly accruals and projections based on program goals and inventory analysis
  • Project management; planning and scoping, budget and staff management, reporting, and issue management
  • Effectively communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, engineering or other discipline
  • 3+ years of management experience including coaching and mentoring
  • 3+ years of experience in managing energy efficiency programs - preferred
  • Proficiency in financial management
  • Must show proven leadership in a fast pace environment with ever-changing priorities

  • Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have excellent leadership, team management and relationship building skills
  • Must be familiar with project management techniques and have strong understanding of project management tools and approaches to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Fluent in creating and managing project plans, as well as providing and meeting time estimates for assigned tasks
  • Flexibility to lead diverse and dynamic teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Solid problem-solving skills and ability to focus both strategically and tactically to achieve business goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
