Summary -
This Director of Nursing/Infection Preventionist will be a part of a dual role. This role will be DON at Tiffin Rehab Center and the Infection Preventionist at Autumnwood Care Center.

Objective
: The role of the DON is to assess, plan, implement and coordinate the clinical care program to ensure the highest quality of care is maintained at all times.



~ Hours would include some night and weekend hours if needed. There may be times that this person would be asked to fill in as a nurse on the floor.



Core Responsibilities:



  • Partner with the Executive Director and IDT members
  • Instructs staff on various federal, state and facility’s regulations, policies and procedures; monitors compliance.
  • Accepts responsibility for the facility in the absence of the Campus Executive Director.
  • Schedules, directs and records regular department meetings.
  • Participates in the preparation of the operating and capital budget for the Nursing Department.
  • Monitors department expenditures to budget.
  • Oversees and directs day-to-day functions of the nursing staff
  • Review resident care plans
  • Serve on various quality control committees

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse with minimum of two (2) years experience in nursing supervisory or nursing management in a long-term care setting or equivalent.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of long-term care, gerontology, rehabilitative, and medical-surgical nursing care, Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Infection Control.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of long-term care, gerontology, rehabilitative, and medical-surgical nursing care, Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Infection Control.

  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.

  • Understanding of current Infection Prevention and Control and OSHA guidelines.

  • Knowledge of QAA/QAPI theory and process.
