POSITION Financial Analyst needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with Mason & Hanger located in one of the following office locations: Greenville, SC | Lexington, KY | Huntsville, AL | Richmond, VA | Chantilly, VA | Remote. Responsible for directly supporting the Finance Director for Mason & Hanger with financial planning and analysis and will interface daily with program/project managers, accounting, contracts, procurement, pricing and other personnel. This individual will play a role in impacting business profitability through period closing, forecasting, internal financial reporting, cash management and process improvement initiatives.


The Work You'll Be Doing:



  • Prepare and analyze estimate at complete (ETC) data, which includes forecasting both labor and non-labor expenses. Assist more senior team members with risk documentation and manpower planning.
  • Generate accurate and realistic financial forecasts and explain associated variances to the budget. Maintain the rolling multi-year financial model that supports the monthly project review package and the quarterly forecast.
  • Maintain accounts receivable metrics.
  • Participation in monthly project reviews.
  • Support proposal pricing and associated profitability analysis.
  • Create journal entries for revenue recognition, intra-company invoices, and cost reclassifications.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:



  • B.S. In Accounting or Finance. MBA Preferred.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience. A/E industry experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance required.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.

The Big Picture – Top Skills You Should Possess:



  • Solid understanding of program control techniques in the Federal contracting environment and finance/accounting principles including GAAP, CAS, FAR, standard financial metrics, and profitability analysis. Experience with cost/schedule integration using Primavera would be a differentiator, but is not required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a wide variety of contractual vehicles, with emphasis on Fixed Price and Lump Sum contracts.
  • Proficiency in SAP finance/accounting modules and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to mine large volumes of data from various sources, analyze trends, and produce summarized results.

Must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:



  • Visual acuity (e.g., needed to prepare and analyze data, to transcribe documents, to view a computer, to read, to inspect objects, to operate machinery.
  • Ability to read complex documents in the English language.
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to write complex documents in the English language.
  • Capacity to express thoughts orally.
