Your Role and Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Remedy Application Administrator will execute the following tasks:
  • Maintain the BMC Remedy ITSM Incident Management application
  • Provide day-to-day Remedy Incident Management end user and maintenance support, troubleshooting/debugging, solution research, performance monitoring, and error identification/remediation
  • Create accounts, support groups, and Product Categories according to internal change processes
  • Provide dashboards and reports for operations and performance tracking
  • Work with LDAC team to design workflows to improve operating efficiency
  • Apply customizations as needed to support client workflows
  • Coordinate with vendor as needed to resolve escalated issues
  • Develop and maintain internal end-user documentation and training materials
  • Maintain system compliance with DoD security requirements
  • Install, patch, and upgrade Remedy ITSM, JRE, Apache Tomcat, and SSL certificates as needed
  • Review server and application logs
  • Monitor status, health, and performance to avoid problems with system reliability and throughput
  • Administer Remedy SSO
  • Coordinate with OS, database, and fellow application administrators to resolve problems and plan maintenance actions

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years experience or Associates Degree w/ 7 +years experience
  • At least 3 years experience in Remedy administration
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Active Security+ CE or higher Certification
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of BMC Remedy ITSM modules and processes
  • Understanding of the interdependencies across ITSM components to support possible future implementation of Change and Service Request Management
  • Familiar with Redhat Linux (version 7 preferred), Java (version 8 preferred), and Apache Tomcat (version 9 preferred)
  • Familiar with Oracle Database (19c preferred)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • BMC IT Service Management certification
  • Knowledge of Service Desk operations
