Apogee Engineering is seeking a F-35 Weapon System Team Analyst to support Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC) A5/8/9 at Joint Base Langley Eustis (JBLE), VA.

What you will be doing:



  • Applying F-35 fighter aircraft expertise as a member of the ACC Weapon System Team (WST) ensuring dominant combat airpower

  • Providing technical and analytical support to track and analyze trends, user requirements, and other key issues and assist in development of critical documentation to support system resource requirements

  • Assisting in identifying capability gaps and inefficiencies for meeting current and future combat threats

  • Translating F-35 weapon system requirements and developing strategies to solve highest priority capability gaps

  • Accelerating delivery of warfighting capability by analyzing Urgent Operational Needs (UONs)/Joint UONs (JUONs) and developing rapid prototyping/fielding requirement and Joint Capabilities Integration and Documentation System (JCIDS) documents

  • Participating in associated Air Combat Command, Headquarters Air Force, and Joint Staff Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) and Office of Secretary of Defense requirements and acquisition forums as a technical and subject matter expert to provide expert analytical support

  • Providing expert analytical and technical support to concept refinement, threat analysis, development of operational concepts, operational effectiveness analysis, input to program objective memorandum development, sustainability, survivability and vulnerability analysis, cost and risk, and cost effectiveness analysis

  • Assessing F-35 capabilities, programs, and cost to allow proper planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE)

  • Assisting with the development of studies, analyses, reports, etc. to inform the Requirements Generation, Strategic Planning, Programming, and Science & Technology process and identify and prioritize capability gaps and develop strategies toward defensible solutions


What you'll need:



  • Security clearance required: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years’ operational and program management experience in Combat Air Force fighter capabilities, including 3 years on a Major Command (MAJCOM) or higher-level staff executing Program Element Monitor (PEM) responsibilities

  • 5th Generation fighter aircraft experience

  • Strong command of MS Office suite tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
