JOB SUMMARY


The Staff Development Trainer & Support will work under the supervision of the Quality & Staff Development Manager. Responsible for understanding training needs of the various departments and programs of Pecan Valley Centers to coordinate and facilitate those trainings. Delivery of training will be a combination of in person and online agency-wide trainings for new hires, annual staff recertification, and as needed courses. This position also requires a willingness to become certified as a trainer in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (PMAB), and other courses identified by the agency. The Trainer/Support person will be responsible for building strong working relationships with team members and management to facilitate formal training sessions, develop training documentation, provide ongoing support by tracking and analyzing course. This position may prepare course content and training materials as well as provide input in design and development of Learning Management System. In addition, course evaluations are analyzed to determine solutions for improvement and determine effectiveness of training sessions.



DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Good analytical and planning skills to assess training needs of the agency. Ability to work with members of top management team to establish overall training objectives for the agency. Must also be able to evaluate the competency levels of individual employees so that they can work with employees with different knowledge and skill levels. Schedule training sessions to minimize disruption to normal working, while ensuring that employees achieve the levels of skill necessary for their jobs.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


Knowledge of office procedures and of proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Skill in using personal computers and office equipment. Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports. Skill in using various data entry systems including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat. Willing to learn and become familiar with the Learning Management System used in the for computer-based training of the agency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Education:
Associates degree required. A degree in Education, or Human Services related field is preferred

Experience: At least 2 years’ experience working with media systems and in training and development. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in public speaking.



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS


A valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT


Mainly an office position, however, must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead.
