Duties


  • Researches, compiles, and summarizes data for each object class and line item as needed to formulate budget estimates.
  • Determines validity of obligations in accordance with law or policy.
  • Drafts procedural guidance concerning the format for submission of annual estimates of funding requirements.
  • Assists in troubleshooting various Commitment Item (CI) and incorrect payroll expenses to determine causes of deviations from the approved program.
  • Assist in development of programs and reviews all programs to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and effectiveness of budgetary automated operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. To Qualify At The GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-07 level in the Federal servicewhich includes: Performs a variety of budgetary and administrative functions in implementing the organization's budgetary program, policies, and procedures. Devises and recommends solutions for existing or anticipated operational problems resulting from program errors, procedural changes, and availability of resources. Serves as an Agency Program Coordinator (APC) for Government Purchase Card (GPC) and works closely with Billing Officials, and Joint Readiness Training Center Contracting Office Agency Organization Program Coordinator (A/OPC). Assist Prior Year un-liquidated Funds (ULO) close outs.

Possess a master's degree or 2 full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).

Possess a combination of the specialized experience and education where the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate level education beyond two full years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify (NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS).
