Recruiter (Technical Operations and System Ops)



Position Summary:


The Recruiter is responsible for Technical Operations and System Operation Talent Acquisition. The Recruiter will provide consultative recruiting support with an emphasis on service to include: timely and strategic sourcing, qualifying, interviewing, negotiating offers and on-boarding competitive candidates to fill open job requisitions. The Recruiter will be an active participant on the greater Talent Acquisition team and partner with his or her peers as it relates to recruiting for the organization. The Recruiter will represent the JetBlue culture and brand, fully portray the value of the employment opportunity, and champion the overall candidate experience.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that competitive candidates that meet or exceed specific qualifications and are an excellent organizational fit for the JetBlue culture are presented to hiring managers for open positions.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with business leaders, hiring managers and cross functional partners to best meet the recruiting need of the business.
  • Conduct telephone, individual, and group interviews. Successfully manage, prioritize and close searches against timelines.
  • Use creative staffing methods to develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify, source and generate qualified candidates that are a motivational fit for JetBlue Airways.
  • Assist in creating the external hiring sourcing strategy for specialized roles
  • Provide appropriate coaching and guidance on the interviewing and selection process to all hiring managers. Make informed salary recommendations in collaboration with Compensation and hiring managers.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition process through accurate record keeping, reporting, and updating interview guides and position expectations.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related OR a High School Diploma/ General Education Development (GED) with four (4) years of related work experience
  • One (1) year of Recruiting, Human Resources, or JetBlue Leadership experience
  • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
  • Experience organizing/coordinating multiple projects while providing exceptional customer service
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Ability to understand and create solutions from a global perspective
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the U.S
  • Available for overnight travel (up to 30%)
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located



Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous Airline experience
  • Understanding of recruiting metrics
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and/or SAP
  • A proven track record of sourcing and recruiting quality candidates in a high volume environment
  • Facilitating presentations in front of large groups, including leadership
  • Proven experience providing high-quality customer service in a matrix structure
  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and employment laws



Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
