Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
The Behavior Analyst is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who facilitates Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and behavior analytic services for the Intellectual and Developmental (ID/DD) division. The Behavior Analyst provides relevant training to management and staff. A key objective of the role is to implement the principles of Positive Behavior Supports for the division. Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) is a person centered framework with strategies designed to increase quality of life and decrease behavior that negatively impacts a person’s life. The focus of PBS is teaching new skills and making positive changes in the environment. Responsibilities include developing Positive Behavioral Support Plans, Medication Treatment Plans, Functional Behavioral Analysis, and Interactional Style Guidelines. Other responsibilities include data compiling and analysis, guiding and supporting the management team regarding the clinical and behavioral needs of persons served as well as being a part of the Individual Support Plan team for individuals with behavior and clinical needs. There are some on-call responsibilities for this role.
