JOB PURPOSE:
Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted or powder coated.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *

• Reviews all documents relating to the job at hand.
• Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted or powder coated.
• Continually monitors and is responsible for the quality of their work.
• Stacks parts on a pallet without instruction.
• Inspects own work for conformance to meet quality requirements.
• Completes production documentation and related paperwork.
• Keep all work areas clean and organized.
• Daily and weekly maintenance on all machines.
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
• Technical support or help another team member if necessary under supervision of supervisor.
• Commitment to all safety policies and regulations at all times.
• Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Entry level (train).
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
• Must maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication is preferred.

• No direct reports to this position.

• Some computer skills required to be trained on shop business management system (BMS).
• Ability to read and understand basic work instructions and specifications.

PHYSICAL R*EQUIREMENTS:

• While performing duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to stand and/or sit; use hands, and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms; and talk to hear.
• The employee is frequently required to lift, bend, walk and reach and occasionally climb balancing.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

WORK E*NVIRONMENT:

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or protective gear on a daily basis.
• Occasionally exposed to risk OD electrical shock.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid condition, fumes or airborne particles, flying metal burrs and chips and possible chemical irritants such as water-based coolants, hydraulic oils, degreasing soap and mineral spirit.
• Occasionally exposed to uncomfortable cold or heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
• Exposed to hazardous equipment on a weekly basis.
