The Northern California Recruitment Coordinator is a 0.2 FTE faculty position in the Touro University California College of Education and Health Sciences Joint Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies/Master of Public Health Program. Primary responsibilities include development of clinical rotation sites in underserved, rural, and veteran serving sites in Northern California, recruitment of applicants from these areas/populations and monitoring of students at these sites.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: are those work assignments that are predominant, regular and recurring.

1. In conjunction with the Clinical Curriculum Committee, participate in the development and implementation of the clinical curriculum.

a. Participate in the identification, recruitment, evaluation and maintenance of clinical rotations in underserved, rural, and veteran serving sites in Northern California.

i. Emphasis will be on sites that provide evidence-based substance use disorder services, and in particular, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

b. Perform area site visits with PA students on rotation

c. Identify and bring to the attention of the Director of Clinical Education and Program Director, those students who are not performing satisfactorily in their clinical experiences.

2. In conjunction with the Program, assist in the recruitment of potential PA applicants

a. Set up and/or schedule Information Sessions

b. Mentor potential applicants as appropriate

3. Submit all pertinent paperwork in a timely manner.



QUALIFICATION(S): is the Education, Training and/or related experience needed by the person to perform the job.


o Physician Assistant with current NCCPA certification

o Eligibility for licensure in the state of California

Beneficial Experience

o A background in public health

o Proficiency in expanding medical access to under-resourced populations

o Served as a preceptor or other teaching experience

o Connections in the local medical communities
