Job Description

·       Conducts routine analyses in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.

·       Performs assigned workload on a daily basis and learns to effectively complete multiple assignments.

·       Documents work, maintains study documentation and laboratory records.

·       Operates laboratory equipment and software appropriate for assigned tasks.

·       Performs peer review of data.

·       Contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains a positive attitude.  Plans individual workload in coordination with team members.

·       Learns to understand data generated.

·       Learns to recognize deviations from normal results and inform Study Director, Principal Investigator, and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data.

·       Learns to identify problems, determine appropriate actions, and implement solutions with support as appropriate.

·       Able to adapt to new procedures or particular needs as directed.

·       Able to identify critical steps in an assay.

·       Supports process improvement initiatives.

·       Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

·       Provides input and participates in project meetings.

·       May train less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or relevant field (Laboratory experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Minimum of 6 months of laboratory experience
  • Demonstrates proficiency with basic analytical chemistry techniques including weighing, diluting, dilution factors, etc
  • Familiarity with common analytical laboratory equipment and instrumentation including HPLC/UPLC, GC, IC desired, but not required,
  • Basic knowledge of computers and software programs.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Other Factors:

·       Interacts with operational personnel and department management, internal clients & support groups 

·       Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time, including working within a laboratory hood and standing at a bench top.

·       Overtime and weekend work as required
