Classification Summary
This class is the fifth level in the Financial Aid series. Incumbent oversees the operation of the Office of Financial Aid. Responsibilities may include supervising department staff; administering financial aid programs in compliance with regulations; developing procedures for awarding financial aid to students; awarding financial aid packages in accordance with policies and procedures; preparing federal and/or state reports related to financial aid; processing financial aid appeals; developing procedures for distributing and collecting applications related to financial aid; and balancing federal and state funds
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience
Master’s degree in related field and minimum of three years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum of five years of relevant experience

Classification Duties
1. Determine the goals and direction of the Office of Financial Aid and make action plans. (D6)
2. Provide leadership and support to the operation of the Office of Financial Aid. (D6)
3. Provide leadership and guidance to the development and dissemination of communication messages and materials. (D6)
4. Determine the outcome of appeals for financial aid, and work with students and staff regarding the continued progress toward degree completion and options available. (C4)
5. Prepare, review, submit, and respond to requested federal, state, and institutional reports. (C4)
6. Provide faculty and staff training and support regarding report data submission. (C4)
7. Resolve complex and/or escalated cases where supervisor intervention is needed. (C4)
8. Serve as the College’s Financial Aid Administrator (FAA) and represent the division and department interests. (C4)
9. Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned
